American Fast Freight, Inc. (AFF) is a transportation and logistics company headquartered in Renton, Washington. AFF and its affiliated companies and divisions provide a wide range of ocean freight forwarding, trucking, project logistics and warehousing-distribution services. The core business is ocean freight consolidating and forwarding, specializing in the domestic Jones Act markets of Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico.

Facilities

American Fast Freight operates a number of container freight stations throughout the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam. Locations are Seattle-Tacoma, Oakland, and Long Beach. In Alaska, terminals are located in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Kenai-Soldotna. Hawaii operations are centered in our agent facility in Honolulu.

Separate Market Expertise

There are a number of similarities in each of the markets served by AFF. The majority of products shipped from the continental United States to Alaska, Hawaii and Guam are shipped over-the-water by both steamship and barge lines. All three markets are covered under the Jones Act and they are all remote. Although there is a lot in common about all three markets AFF serves, each is also very different as it relates to some unique transportation challenges. Alaska’s population is concentrated in three of the larger urban areas: Anchorage, Fairbanks and Kenai-Soldotna. However, there are a number of populated cities and communities within Alaska that are reachable only by intrastate air service. Hawaii’s population is spread over six of the eight Hawaiian islands. As such, both barge and airfreight services are used to transfer cargoes from the island of Oahu to the neighbor islands.

To deal with these differences, a separate affiliate company engaged only in its respective market handles the operations at origin and destination. They are experts at understanding the carriers serving these markets, the various sailing schedules and the types of equipment needed to provide cost-effective transportation of clients’ products. In Hawaii-Guam that affiliate is AFF Hawaiian Ocean Transport. In Alaska and the continental United States, it's American Fast Freight.

Other Divisions & Affiliates

American Relocation Services^® provides complete moving & storage services for both consumer and commercial relocations. They have terminals in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Kenai and Tacoma. They are also certified to handle military moves. AFF Distribution Services offers third party warehousing, order processing and delivery in Alaska from their facility in Anchorage. Another affiliate company is Alaska Archives, the largest full service records management company in Alaska. In addition to their file archiving service and electronic media vault storage they also offer secure shredding service. AFF Logistics specializes in handling the strange, the odd, and the unusual. Their experience getting cargo to the wilds of Alaska comes in very handy when orchestrating complex and difficult logistics projects.
